Artistic background
Jocelyne Doll-Soulaine est née à Paris, puis a vécu aux abords des grandes forêts d'Île de France où elle a développé son goût pour la nature et l'observation des animaux. Ce fut sa premiere passion.
Sa seconde passion, née dans les ateliers de son père joaillier et de sa mère dessinatrice, sera ensuite vouée aux arts graphiques et décoratifs, au modelage et aux pierres ornementales.
Jocelyne Doll-Soulaine was born in Paris on the edge of large forests where her attraction for nature and the observation of animals increased. It was her first passion.
Her second passion is the taste for graphic and decorative arts, modeling and gems, developed in the studio of her father jeweler, and her mother designer.
A la suite d'un apprentissage en joaillerie, Jocelyne a rejoint l'affaire familiale pour laquelle elle a développé une ligne de bijoux sur les thèmes floraux et animaliers, poursuivant ensuite pendant quinze ans sa carrière aux Etats Unis dont les grands espaces et la faune constituaient une nouvelle source d'inspiration.
After training in jewelry, Jocelyne joined the family business where she deployed a line based on a floral and animal theme, then pursuing her career for another fifteen years in the United States where open space and wildlife resourced her inspiration of wildlife artist.
A son retour en Europe, attirée de plus en plus par la vie sauvage, Jocelyne évolue vers le dessin et la sculpture des scènes animalières dont elle est témoin. Elle travaille le bronze, l'argent et intègre souvent des minéraux à ses créations.
Jocelyne travaille sa technique en suivant des stages de dessins et de modelage et un apprentissage lapidaire.
Getting more and more attracted by wildlife, Jocelyne evolves towards drawings and sculpting animal scenes that she witnesses. She works with bronze, silver, and gold and often incorporates minerals into her creations.
Jocelyne completes her expertise by taking courses in drawing and modeling and stone cutting. Then a foundry job has perfected her skills in molding, carving and patina.
